Sheen Housing
Building Hope Together
About Us
Bishop Sheen Ecumenical Housing Foundation Inc. (Sheen Housing) is a not-for-profit corporation that goes beyond what any one organization offers to provide safe, decent, affordable housing for very low to moderate income families, seniors, veterans and persons living with disabilities. We seek to promote the self-worth and dignity of those we serve and the community at large by offering financial assistance and a wide range of housing services.
We were established in 1967 to help low-income families purchase their first homes by providing loans and grants for closing costs. Over the years, programs and staff have been added to address a wider range of urban and rural housing needs. Today Sheen Housing supports not only homeowners, but also organizations that provide housing for low-income people. We provide home repair services to decrease substandard housing conditions that threaten the health and safety of residents. We offer home ownership opportunities and housing counseling. We provide affordable rental opportunities. Our service area includes the Counties of Allegany, Cayuga, Chemung, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne and Yates.
Workers Rock is a podcast that focuses on the fact that we can change the future of work across the globe. Meet advocates, historians, union leaders and human resources professionals who have one thing in common, to change what is work for the masses — hosted by Amorette Miller. Find them on Spotify or listen on the podcasts posts.
