The Manager of Accounting Services is responsible for managing RGRTA’s accounting and payroll functions and staff, including but not limited to, coordinating the monthly and annual preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, payroll preparation; completing reports; maintaining records.

SUPERVISES:  Senior Accountant(s), Supervisor of Payroll, and Courier


SALARY RANGE: $75,000-$82,000 annually (depends on experience)

  • Manages the accounting and payroll staff who are responsible for financial reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions.
  • Oversees preparation of business activity reports.
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
  • Oversees filing of quarterly federal & state tax returns.
  • Audit accounts to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and requirements; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
  • Oversees the production and issuance of paychecks and transmission of ACH and positive pay files to the bank.
  • Oversees fare revenue collection and financial tracking.
  • Provides recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
  • Identify and coordinate training needs, initiate development of subordinates through training and goal setting.
  • Ability to direct, monitor, and appraise performance in multiple areas of accounting and payroll with various subject matter experts while building collaboration within the team.
  • Identifies areas of process improvement via process, procedure or technology and has the ability to implement those improvements fostering collaboration and efficiencies.



  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or business-related field; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience in Lawson Financial System (Infor) preferred.
  • Experience in UKG system preferred.
  • Proven working experience in roles such as Audit Manager, Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager with at least five (5) years of general accounting experience across all accounting disciplines; at least five (5) years of experience supervising employees.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.



  • Excellent computer skills, including intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite, Lawson Financial System (Infor), and Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG).
  • Must serve as administrator on various financial institutions’ websites, applications, and software.
