The Clinician II is responsible for the assessment and delivery of quality mental health care to the youth and families that Hillside serves. The Clinician II works as a member of an inter-disciplinary team to develop, assess, and modify the individual service plan. The person in this position will provide individual and group therapy including structured and process groups within a variety of settings (residential, school, community). The Clinician II recognizes the need for, and provides, team mentoring and clinical guidance. Based on experience and skills, the Clinician II may also provide clinical peer supervision and clinical consultation and training to other team members. The Clinician II is relied upon as the primary contact for the service plan and is able to expertly and succinctly communicate at all levels both orally and in writing.
Level III: Clinician III works as a senior team member in assessing a youth’s/family’s needs and is responsible for developing, assessing and modifying the individual service plan in collaboration with the youth/family and multi-disciplinary treatment team. Must have demonstrated ability to diagnose and treat children/youth and families with more complex challenges. Provides expert individual and group therapy, including structured and process groups, within a variety of settings (residential, school, community). Recognizes the need for and provides team mentoring and clinical guidance; clinical peer supervision and clinical consultation. Develops and provides expert training to employees as required.
Level II Requirements: Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or a related field of study is required. Candidates must have valid NYS professional licensure (in area of study is preferred) or must be license eligible upon hire. A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant clinical experience is required. Candidates must have thorough knowledge of the services provided, must have well developed advocacy skills, knowledge and understanding of payment processes for services, and knowledge of regulatory standards. Valid NY State Driver’s License is required. Candidates must meet agency driving and insurance standards.
Level III Requirements:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or a related field is required. NYS Professional License in area of study is required. Candidates must have 5-7 years of relevant experience. Candidates with management/supervisor experience are preferred. Candidates should have a valid driver’s license and meet agency driving standards.
