Summary:

The Corporate Capital Projects/Buying Manager will support the project team in daily management, coordination and successful completion of projects. This position will function as a project team member, understand the scope of the project and participants, coordinating with both internal and external project teams. The Corporate Capital Projects/Buying Manager has oversight for capital procurement management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Work in partnership with Project Manager to maintain an updated and accurate project schedule that reflects the changes in project status and that meets the cost and time requirements of the project

· Assist with project costs controls to stay within forecasted budget range

· Assist with the preparations of budget estimates, progress reports

· Track and communicate progress and task lists of various process owners; proactively identify and escalate issues that would present a risk to on-time project delivery

· Coordinate meetings and ensure that participants are prepared with requested deliverables

· Record notes of these meetings and document action items

· Oversee project procurement management

· Compare invoices and pay applications to project budget to ensure accuracy; review and confirm all required backup support is complete and correct

· Assist in reviewing change orders

· Assist in close out process at the conclusion of a project in partnership with finance

· Work with functional areas within the company to identify status of activity and/or expedite activity to assist with Project Manager in meeting project expectations

· Oversight for tracking and coordination of ACE approvals

· Negotiate favorable terms and conditions on all PO’s issue to suppliers

· Negotiate cost savings on PO’s issued to supplier of capital expenses

· Oversight of ACE’s into Oracle and ensure proper processes are followed

· Publish weekly tracking and spending reports to the leadership team and finance

· Oversight of asset tracking, disposition, and other asset management responsibilities

· Oversight of purchase order issuance for capital expenditures

· Maintains engineering standards that need to go out with all purchase orders (safety, quality, electrical, and code standards)

· Work with the engineering to maintain up to date standards for use with purchase orders

· Assure multiple quotes are received for all expenditures unless approved single source

· Assure corporate preferred suppliers are utilized, and assist with maintaining the preferred supplier list

· Coach, mentor and develop staff, including preparing and conducting employee performance appraisals

· Maintain employee work schedules including timecard approval, work assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off

· Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

· Bachelor of Engineering/Science degree and/or 3-5 years commercial/industrial construction or capital project management experience

· Experience managing project managers across multiple projects simultaneously

· An ability to prepare and interpret budgets, schedules and step-by-step action plans

· An ability to negotiate favorable payment terms and conditions as well as cost downs with suppliers

· Solid organizational skills, including multitasking, and time-management with excellent attention to details and accuracy

· High proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS project, and Outlook)

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines

· Detail oriented and proactive

· Travel to all corporate locations as required

Working Conditions:

· Regularly required to sit, use hands

· Occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, with a potential of up to 25 pounds

· Sedentary office environment

· Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, bump cap, skid-resistant leather shoes, etc.)

· Must follow Good Manufacturing Practice (hair net, no jewelry, no fake nails or eyelashes, no food/drink, gum, etc. in manufacturing Plant)
