The Business Analyst II will collect, compile, analyze, interpret, and maintain all necessary data required by the Operations team to advance service performance. This role will be actively involved with compiling data on past service performance and analyzing the potential impact of future service recommendations. This position will require the ability to manipulate large quantities of data, apply technical skills, perform data analysis, conduct research, and generate reports.


WAGE: $55,000-$60,000 annually

  • Leverage business intelligence and data analytic best practices to deliver relevant, timely and insightful information to help monitor route performance and to inform various Operations departments
  • Gather, summarize, and prepare data for geospatial and statistical analysis
  • Data modeling
  • End user education and training of data tools and modeling
  • Understanding and development of reporting, analysis and visualization of service performance data, metrics, and measures to allow staff to align and track against overall business strategies, goals, and objectives
  • Develop fact sheets, graphs, and written reports on research results
  • Perform advanced data analysis and manipulation of extensive amounts of data using spreadsheet and statistical software
  • Query data from a variety of systems to produce data sets for analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and the communication of results to groups of people
  • Use and apply different statistical tools including, but not limited to, trend analysis, root cause analysis, regression analysis, experimental design, statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, control charting, etc.
  • Develop and document the data flow, quality control and validation methods used for data inputs



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of full-time progressively responsible experience in a related discipline
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above


  • Strong knowledge of mathematical and statistical tools and accepted procedures and practices
  • Comfortable with use of spreadsheets and numbers; comfortable manipulating and organizing data
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to provide solutions/recommendations applicable to transit operations
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of duties requiring considerable judgment to work independently devising new methods, adapting, or changing standard procedures to meet new conditions
