Lifetime Assistance Registered Nurses (RN) provide nursing services to assigned individuals and coordinates medical services. They provides oversight to “unlicensed” direct support staff for all medical and nursing services and functions as an Interdisciplinary Team (IT) member assuring compliance with all regulatory and agency standards.
Registered Nurse positions at Lifetime Assistance do not require weekend, holiday or on-call commitments.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Licensed and currently registered by the New York State Department of Education and one year related experience. May be required to meet LAI’s Vehicle Operator requirements.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, procedures, clinical plans, individual service plans, and regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and other required communication. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of people served, their families, employees and other service providers. Must be able to effectively communicate with people served, staff and other individuals involved in the support and care of those we serve.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of options in situations where only limited instructions exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, or oral form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. May be required to meet OPWDD Level II S.C.I.P.-R. (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention-Revised) requirements. The employee must frequently lift, transfer, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
