Mary's Place Refugee Outreach
About Us
Mary’s Place Refugee Outreach, founded in 2009, provides a range of services to refugees recently resettled in Rochester—including English language classes, jobs skills training immigration assistance, case management services, summer camp opportunities for children, and weekly food delivery to nearly 200 families.
Mary’s Place typically welcomes refugees who have completed the 90-day official resettlement period, with support services paid for by the U.S. government. The actual resettlement often takes much longer than three months and needed supports and services are not covered by federal funds. Many refugees are experiencing severe post-traumatic stress issues, challenges with learning English, as well as employment and housing issues. Mary’s Place is committed to meeting the essential needs of every refugee who comes to our door—at no charge.
