Job Description:
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of subject
- Teaches courses and evaluates student performance per guidelines set by the department and Monroe Community College; instruction typically occurs in clinical facilities
- Selects clinical assignments for students
- Supervises students during clinical laboratory experience
- Maintains collegial relationships with clinical facility and meets all requirements of clinical facility
- Maintains student attendance records, grades and other records required by the College
- Stays current in nursing and actively participates in professional development
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Earned bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited higher education institution
- Earned master’s degree in Nursing or BSN Degree with MSN in progress from a regionally accredited higher education institution
- Two years recent clinical experience in Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical, Psychiatric-Mental Health, or Maternal-Neonatal Nursing
- Current unencumbered NY State RN licensure and registration
- Commitment to supporting an equitable and inclusive environment on campus
- Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs
- Evidence of commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college
- Evidence of effective communication (interpersonal, speaking, and writing) skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- More than 2 years recent clinical experience in Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical, Psychiatric-Mental Health, or Maternal-Neonatal Nursing
- Clinical teaching experience
- Knowledge of, or experience in, implementing a variety of teaching strategies
- Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish proficiently
